No, I didn't

I did not vote for Al Gore before voting against him a la John F'n Kerry. In fact I don't think I voted in last year's proxy voting thingy.

I really can't remember, but I still have the proxy voting card from last year and its not filled in or anything.

I voted against Al Gore Today

I did my proxy vote thingie for the Apple Computer, Inc. shares that I own today. I voted for all board members except Al Gore, fucker. He has no business being on that board because he has no business experience at all, especially not anything related to a multi-billion dollar international computer hardware and software OEM like Apple.

Fuck him and his liberal buddy Steve Jobs. People would have shit bricks if George W. Bush appointed Michael Dell to some position in his administration, and yet padding the resume of a fellow Liberal well thats NO BIG DEAL to anyone. The Ol' Boys Network only applies to the Republicans I guess.

Oh well. I did my duty and voted, and I didn't even toe the "party" line. Hah! And lest you think me a fool, I am not the only one vote-protesting Apple today.

Screw You Guys, I'm Goin' Home

It appears RealNetworks, which is in RealTrouble with its music service and rapidly marginalized media player, is using the Eric Cartman method of negotiation with Apple in blatant attempt to remain relevant.

Basically RealNetworks wants to get on the iPod to provide a media player platform to link to its music download service. Apparently Real is using AAC right now, the same format Apple uses, but with a different DRM scheme. Apple uses a DRM scheme called FairPlay (and was in fact the first such scheme released to the marketplace for music downloads).

It sounds like Real wants to twist Steve Jobs' arm to get access to the massively popular iPod and if not will shrug and go play ball with Microsoft (which does not have a standard hardware player as such, but has ubiquitous file/DRM support on every single non-Apple music player). This is the "Screw You Guys, I'm Goin' Home" method of negotiating created by South Park's Eric Cartman.

Real does not have the Microsoft format and DRM support on every non-Apple player, and does not have access to the iPod and its own DRM despite using the same core file format. Apple has the #1 music player and music download service but may very well lose out to the Microsoft WMA juggernaught if they don't allow another service access to the iPod as well. Quite a pickle for all those guys, eh?

Protect Yourself.

If you have a PayPal link on your blog/web site be aware that there may come a time when someone who disagrees with you politically may send you a small amount of money and then immediately file a complaint with PayPal. Under their TOS PayPal can and will seize your account until a dispute is resolved, effectively locking up any money you have in that account until some time in the future.

Note that I am telling anyone to do this!

I am genuinely surprised none of the far-Left has figured out this tactic. I have removed my PayPal button and a link to my personal web site so hopefully I won't get hit (my other website has a potentially inflammatory piece of software to the anti-American Left).

Be forewarned!

Oops

I realized that without a background sound preference cookie set the embedded object code is FUBAR'd on the page for all you lucky visitors. For me it makes a big square on the top left corner.

Oh well.

I bet it doesn't even work on Windoze. Fuck it. Happy fucking Easter or whatever.

Can we change the Daylight Savings time now? I am totally losing track of time since the switch.
